“A building that was once conceived to reach a height of over one mile (1.6 km) will soon become a reality at a slightly shorter stature (1 km, or 3,280 feet) that will still set a record. Designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill (pictured) of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture of Chicago, Illinois, the Jeddah Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is under construction and is expected to be complete in 2020. The multipurpose building will accommodate offices, a 200-room Four Seasons Hotel, 121 serviced apartments and 360 residential apartments.

I seriously don’t see the purpose of tall buildings today? If you are doing “office work” really you can work remotely. Apple, Google and Microsoft are not building tall buildings. Explain it to me?
