Sakura: Cherry Blossoms at Keage and Nanzen-ji Temple. Kyoto.

I follow Kyoto Fan on Facebook. They publish some exquisite photos and videos of the area regularly.

They have just posted this exquisite YouTube video of cherry blossoms.

“The Keage incline is an old cable railway that was in use until the year 1948, to transport boats in one segment of the Biwako Canal. Nowadays, it is a famous Cherry Blossoms Spot visited by hundreds of thousands of people, during the Spring Season.

This place is connected by a short trail with the Nanzen-ji Temple, which appears on the last part of the video.

From Keage you can walk both to the Nanzen-ji temple, and then continue up north to the Tetsugaku no Michi, or walk to the west along the canal and reach the Giant Torii in front of the Heian Jingu Shrine. Whatever direction you choose, both are very scenic routes and a nice walk at any time of the year.”
