Thats not true because i said when you take away “I” ad “want” and all you’re left with is H.A.P.P.I.N.E.S.S but really if you take away “I” you would be left with H.A.P.P.N.E.S.S
You’re an idiot…
lmfao!
agreed
It actually says take away “I” not “i.” You’re wrong
The premise for your statement is wrong, Buddha probably never spoke one single English word. If you want to nitpick like that you have to use the language it was originally uttered in. Even trolls should know that.
Why would you think Buddha doesn’t speak English?
“Why would you think Buddha doesn’t speak English?” Honestly?!
If it was said by someone specific or not it has a meaning that is true to Buddhism. And if it had been said in its language of origin would you have taken the time to decipher it?
Go soak in your bitterness somewhere else.
I’m just stuck on the fact that for you the entire quote centers on the mechanics of the English language… English didn’t even exist when The Buddha was around in India several thousand years ago. Point out the complete lack of an actually source for the quote and you’d be fine, but you just decided not to ‘think’ at all didn’t you?
“…a Valid* source…” FTFY
If it was said by someone specific or not it has a meaning that is true to Buddhism. And if it had been said in its language of origin would you have taken the time to decipher it? And mechanics of the English language, do other languages not have “I” or “want” in them?
it was only a joke… if not, its more funny.. relax people
Lizzie, just… no.
haha?
nice!
Very nice!.Thank you!
“I have serious issues, when it comes to believing the validity of quotes on the internet…” -Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson.. internet .. hmm???
think that’s the point bruv…
It does not matter whether any quotes on the Internet are “valid” or not it is the meaning of the words themselves and whether they have any relevance to you that is important. These words say if you remove “ego” and “desire” from your life you will have happiness. Works for me!
Buddhism is centered around ‘suffering’ and essentially denounces the existence of– or at least ability to achieve– “happiness”. The goal in Buddhism is not to (attempt to) achieve happiness but to get oneself to a place of freedom and peacefulness where suffering is able to cease.
it is a deep happiness beyond the needs of achieving anything…Lovin’ you
Happiness is an inner state. Those looking for happiness outside of themselves, are like a snail looking for it´s house outside the shell.
Totally agree. Thanks for your comment.
That is profound!
