  1. Thats not true because i said when you take away “I” ad “want” and all you’re left with is H.A.P.P.I.N.E.S.S but really if you take away “I” you would be left with H.A.P.P.N.E.S.S

    • The premise for your statement is wrong, Buddha probably never spoke one single English word. If you want to nitpick like that you have to use the language it was originally uttered in. Even trolls should know that.

      • If it was said by someone specific or not it has a meaning that is true to Buddhism. And if it had been said in its language of origin would you have taken the time to decipher it?

    • I’m just stuck on the fact that for you the entire quote centers on the mechanics of the English language… English didn’t even exist when The Buddha was around in India several thousand years ago. Point out the complete lack of an actually source for the quote and you’d be fine, but you just decided not to ‘think’ at all didn’t you?

      • If it was said by someone specific or not it has a meaning that is true to Buddhism. And if it had been said in its language of origin would you have taken the time to decipher it? And mechanics of the English language, do other languages not have “I” or “want” in them?

  2. Buddhism is centered around ‘suffering’ and essentially denounces the existence of– or at least ability to achieve– “happiness”. The goal in Buddhism is not to (attempt to) achieve happiness but to get oneself to a place of freedom and peacefulness where suffering is able to cease.
